ACI Foundation Fellowships for International Students: Eligibility, Requirements, and Application Deadline

The ACI Foundation Scholarship application portal is now open to international students worldwide. This scholarship or fellowship, fully funded by the ACI Foundation, is available for undergraduate, master’s, PhD, and postdoctoral studies. Recipients will receive an educational stipend ranging from $10,000 to $15,000 USD, covering tuition, accommodation, books, and study materials.

The ACI Foundation, established by the American Concrete Institute, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting progress, innovation, and collaboration through educational support and scholarships. It also acts as an independent resource, offering strategic guidance and leadership to the concrete industry.

Requirements for Eligibility for the ACI Foundation Scholarship

To qualify for the ACI Foundation Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Language Requirement: English
    • If English is not your first language, you must include a written statement with your application confirming your proficiency.
  • Eligible Countries:
    • Open to applicants from all countries.
    • ACI Foundation Fellowships are available worldwide, but recipients must attend a university in the Gulf Cooperation Council region during the award year (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates).
    • Fellowships can also be awarded to international students studying in the U.S. or Canada during the award cycle.
  • Internship Requirement:
    • Some fellowships require recipients to complete a 10- to 12-week internship during summer 2024.
  • Finalist Selection:
    • Finalists will be notified by February 4, 2024, and must be available for an interview with the Scholarship Council on March 27, 2024, at the spring ACI Concrete Convention. Travel expenses, accommodation, registration, and a travel stipend will be provided.
  • English Proficiency:
    • All applicants must be proficient in English. Uploading a TOEFL score is optional.
  • Stipend Distribution:
    • The educational stipend is paid in two equal installments over one year directly to the student, covering tuition, room and board, books, and other expenses. Stipend disbursement is contingent on attending the scheduled ACI Concrete Conventions during the award period.
  • Reporting Requirement:
    • Fellowship recipients must submit a written report near the end of their fellowship, detailing the fellowship’s impact on their personal development and career readiness after graduation.
