Columbia University | Application Requirement

Applying for admission into Columbia University as US. For citizens and International Students, the following requirements are considered.

Apply for the Coalition Application or the Common Application. We will also accept the QuestBridge Application from QuestBridge Finalists. The applications contain the following;

  1. Autobiographical information
  2. Lists and descriptions of a student’s achievements, activities, employment and summer activities
  3. Personal essay

International Student’s Additional Requirement

  • Submit a Secondary School profile describing the school, grading system, and curricular and extracurricular resources.

Note: Columbia accepts all secondary school curricula (e.g., International Baccalaureate, Cambridge A Levels, National School curricula.

  • Submit other relevant original documents (Please, all documents, including transcripts not written in English, should be translated before submission)
  • SAT Score of 700 or higher on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section
  • ACT Score of 29 or higher in the English or Reading sections
  • A TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 105 is required
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 7.5
  • DET (Duolingo English Test) score of 135
